چکیده

A precise determination of the strange quark mass, being one of the fundamental parameters in the Standard Model (SM), is of paramount interest in several areas of present day particle phenomenology. Until today two main methods have been employed to achieve this task. QCD sum rules [2] have been applied to various channels containing strange quantum numbers, in particular the scalar channel that will be the subject of this talk [3–5], and more recently also lattice QCD simulations have been used to extract the strange quark mass [6,7]. The basic object which is investigated in the simplest version of QCD sum rules is the twopoint function Ψ(q) of two hadronic currents

Light quark masses from scalar sum rules

In this work, the mass of the strange quark is calculated from QCD sum rules for the divergence of the strangeness-changing vector current. The phenomenological scalar spectral function which enters the sum rule is determined from our previous work on strangeness-changing scalar form factors [1]. For the running strange mass in the MS scheme, we find ms(2GeV) = 99 ± 16 MeV. Making use of this r...

Strange quark matter attached to string cloud in general scalar tensor theory of gravitation

Bianchi type-VI0 space time with strange quark matter attached to string cloud in Nordtvedt [1] general scalar tensor theory of gravitation with the help of a special case proposed by Schwinger [2] is obtained. The field equations have been solved by using the anisotropy feature of the universe in the Bianchi type-VI0 space time. Some important features of the model, thus obtained, have been di...

Gaussian Sum-Rule Analysis of Scalar Gluonium and Quark Mesons

Gaussian sum-rules, which are related to a two-parameter Gaussian-weighted integral of a hadronic spectral function, are able to examine the possibility that more than one resonance makes a significant contribution to the spectral function. The Gaussian sum-rules, including instanton effects, for scalar gluonic and non-strange scalar quark currents clearly indicate a distribution of the resonan...

QCD Sum-Rule Bounds on the Light Quark Masses

QCD sum-rules are related to an integral of a hadronic spectral function, and hence must satisfy integral inequalities which follow from positivity of the spectral function. Development of these Hölder inequalities and their application to the Laplace sum-rule for pions lead to a lower bound on the average of the non-strange 2GeV light-quark masses in the MS scheme. The light quark masses are f...

Order - α 3 s determination of the strange quark mass

We present a QCD sum rule calculation of the strange-quark mass including four-loop QCD corrections to the correlator of scalar currents. We obtain ¯ m s (1 GeV) = 203.5 ± 20 MeV.
